Using ImageWell
Activating ImageWell
ImageWell is a menu bar application that can be activated by clicking the ImageWell icon or, as an added convenience, dragging a file or image over the icon will also activate ImageWell.
By dropping the image into the well, the image is automatically imported into the ImageWell application. The image can be dropped into either the miniature ImageWell window on the menu bar, or the larger ImageWell window shown below, whichever is more convenient for you.
Importing Images
One way to import an image is to drag the image from the Finder, or another application such as iPhoto, into ImageWell and drop it in the well. Another way to import is to copy the image to the clipboard from another application, such as Safari (control click an image -> select copy to clipboard), and then click the paste button on ImageWell.
By clicking the 'Grab' button, ImageWell will do a screen grab and import the image directly into ImageWell.
ImageWell shows vital statistics of the image including the width and height, as well as the size of the image in bytes and how long it will take to download from a dial-up connection.
Modifying the Image in the Well
Once the image is imported, the size and shape can be modified. To resize the image, move the slider to scale it from 5% to 100% of original size. The vital statistics will change accordingly.
ImageWell has 12 different shapes as shown to the right. Each shape has it's own unique attribute such as 'angle' or 'radius' that can be increased/decreased to your liking - just click on the desired shape to change the shape of your image. You can also add a border and select the color of the border as well.
