Chapter 11. Some Features that May be Hard to Find...

───────────────────────────────────────

This section provides a short list of where to find certain features that may not be that

apparent upon first glance of the user interface.

Where do I find the feature for adding a drop shadow to my pictures?

The drop shadow feature is located in the Layout window under the photo album tab.

Go to the Layout window and select the Photo Album tab. Click the Borders button.

Picture Frame attributes should already be selected, if it is not, click the Picture Frame

button. The feature to add a drop shadow is just below this button.  Check off the Drop

Shadow box to add a drop shadow to all of your thumbnails. The drop shadow is not

editable and is applied to thumbnails only (does not apply to slideshow or larger

images).

How do I activate the embedded links in my thumbnails?

After you have entered an embedded link to your thumbnails, you will need to activate

it. Go to the Layout window and select the Photo Album tab. The editing options for

your photo album should be open at the Properties section; if it is not, click the

Properties button at the left side of the photo album pane. At the far right of this pane,

there is a list of options for clicking thumbnails.  Select the fourth item in the list called,

Opens embedded link.  This will now make the thumbnail link to the specified URL

when someone clicks on a photo. You can try it out in the Preview window to see how it

works.

Where did the watermark feature go?

Former versions of ShutterBug had the watermark feature available directly from the

user interface in the Content window. This feature has since been moved to the main

menu in order to make room for the new caption features in the content window.

Watermarks can only be applied when you are in the Content window.  With the

content window open, go to Tools-->Add/Remove Watermarks from the Main Menu. A

window will slide open from the top of the application window, containing the

watermark editing options.

Where do I find the place to include my logo?

You can easily include a logo in the masthead of your website or in any other area of

your website. In the Layout window, select the Masthead tab. Then select the Borders

button located at the left side of the interface.  Under the Borders button, the

Background options contain an image well for dragging and dropping images to use as

the element's background.  Drag and drop your logo into the image well.  Then select

Image from the drop down list.  Your logo will now appear in the masthead.

Check the background color in the color well just above the image well to make sure it

is the color you want.  You can match it to the background color of your logo, make it

the same color as the page background, or select any color you want.  Make any

necessary adjustments to the masthead box size to make sure it fits the logo's size

and is not cut off by the masthead box.  You can drop your logo into the background

for any element, it doesn't have to be the masthead.

Where can I add some of my own META tags to ShutterBug's HTML output?

Meta tags can be added in the Advanced window of ShutterBug. This window is

accessible from the Content window only. From your navigation list, select the very top

item called Website.  Click the Advanced button located at the top right corner of the

content window.  This will open the advanced edit window where you can enter your

own meta tags and additional HTML. Please see Chapter 9. Advanced Options for

more details.

Where do I find the option to include the ShutterBug logo? (or turn it off)

The Created With Badge is an option in the Layout window.  Go to the Layout window

and select the Footer tab. Under the Properties button, the Options section contains a

checkbox to Show or Not Show the "Created With ShutterBug" badge. Check this box

to make the badge appear on your web pages; leave the box blank to have it not

appear on your pages.  The badge is an automatic setting that will show up at the

bottom center of every page.  It cannot be repositioned or edited in any way.  It is not

viewable in the Preview window, you can only see it in a live browser.
