Locations
Where did the Location Set-Up Go??
In Version 1 of ImageWell, the Server tab on the options panel allowed you to set up the information for the server that you wanted to send your image to. ImageWell would send the image to the specified server when you clicked on the Send button.
This functionality has not changed with Version 2, but the menu has been moved from the Options panel (which has been replaced by the More Drawer) to the ImageWell Preferences pane. This allows you to set up multiple server locations and folders so that you don't have to go back and change the settings each time you want to send to a different server or folder.
In Version 1, if you wanted to send the same image to several different server locations, you had to input all new information into the Server tab panel each time, overwriting the old info with the new. The new location pane in the Preferences window eliminates the need to redo such tasks.
ImageWell V2 saves your locations and stores the information so you can simply choose from your send to list, without having to input new data each time. The only time you will ever have to go back and access these settings is when you want to add a new location, delete an existing location, or change the properties of one of your accounts.
Locations Tab
To access the Locations tab, go to Preferences from ImageWell on the main menu or click the Locations button found in the More Drawer panel. The Preferences pane will slide out from the front of the main application window.
Click on the Locations tab to reveal the locations window. The Locations window is divided into two sections as shown in the picture below. The left half of the pane shows your list of locations where you can add, delete and rename server locations. The right half contains the properties of each location where you can specify and modify the required server information (host name, username, password, directory). The locations window also allows you to set the override url for viewing and to turn on the overwrite warning box.
ImageWell supports iDisk (.Mac account), FTP and WebDAV (HTTP) transfers to a remote server.
